Indeed, for us it has no been easy, to optimize the available resources (including natural resources), to remain true to the idea of controlling traceability from the beginning to the end in a “total” way.
This year, everything has worked almost perfectly:
- Even with a little delay, we started the campaign of cork harvest and the moving to our yard at the end of June. However, between the end of July and the beginning of August, we had the 7 lots of which we will have the 2018 harvest, perfectly placed and analyzed in our yard. (photo 1).
- Yesterday, 30 August, we have finished drilling all the cork from the 2017 harvest and, this year we really have taken advantage of the natural benefits provided by the sun, to be able to dry our corks quickly and naturally. This way, we hope that before the end of September, all cork stoppers of 2017 are with the controlled and correct humidity, in our stockrooms. There is no doubt that this peace of mind will allow us to face the sales of 2019, with a safety (due to the humidity) which we have not been able to obtain every year. (Photo 2)
- Whit the cork stoppers in GLM2, after our holidays we will begin the processes of triple washing, treatments and selection so that, with total security before the end of this year, our sales representatives can know the exact amount of available cork stoppers of each quality for the sales of 2019. Of course, as every year, we will respect loyalty to already regular customers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtecG7j8v4s
- From the consideration of well-done work, we have considered it appropriate, to have a farewell lunch on the last working day before holidays, in order to wish us a happy rest. (Photo 3).
