CONTROL OF RAW MATERIAL FROM GLM 1

It coincides that, on the 19th, we received our first truck of the 2023 season. It is not from the farm we visited yesterday, but from another one also in Extremadura and about 50 km away from where we were yesterday. For this reason, the guests can verify in situ, that as we had told them, the cork extracted from approximately 7 days, arrives at our company and is properly placed on cement joists, where they must rest for approximately one year.

Our technical director (Juan Amador), explains to our invited winemakers, all the details and advantages that will occur for a year with this cork and, qualifying that especially thanks to the climate of our area, so that various substances typical of cork (pyrazines among others), disappear due to the effect of low environmental humidity and the approximate 50° C existing between winter and summer.

Subsequently, and since we are in the middle of the 2022 cork processing campaign, customers were able to check the processes of:

- Cork cooking

- Cutting and classification of it.

- Stacking and resting on the porch.

- Perforation, wood removal and drying of the cork stoppers.

- Control of ovalization and preparation of the lot, for its transfer to GLM 2.

In this phase, the guests stopped for at least 2 long hours, interested in all the processes. All the details were explained by our technical director.
