We are referring to the fact that on 25 March 2020, our CEO was scheduled to give a conference on cork stoppers and their proper relationship with wine on the island of El Hierro (Canary Islands). However, the pandemic arrived, and the event was postponed.
After the pandemic, the eruption of La Palma’s volcano, along with other circumstances, prevented this meeting from taking place.
There is a saying in our land: Better late than never, and indeed, that was the case. On 12 March, we were finally able to hold this gathering, and fortunately, the attendees’ feedback confirmed its success.
All the winemakers of the island, along with their technicians, the representatives of the Regulatory Council of the Denomination of Origin, and two winemakers from La Palma attended the event.
After two hours of discussions about cork as a raw material and cork stoppers as the best way to seal the good wines, an interesting debate followed, where attendees shared their doubts and concerns on the topic. In the end, the event concluded in the best possible way—WITH A GLASS OF WINE FROM THE ISLAND.
