END OF THE HARVEST 2014

Even if the Harvest 2014 is finished for us at the end of September, until now the rain has not allowed us to climb to the top of the grape-juice steel tanks of our neihbour Mostinsa, to take these Pictures and to show how appears our court fullfilled with new Cork Sheets.

The Harvest has been really good and we consider that the Cork we have bought this year (11 lots between the 115 analyzed) is more homogeneous ad it has a better quality, density and healthy, than the Cork of the harvest 2013, even if we needed 3 months (May, June and July) to find and to buy the Corks we were looking for and that now we own in our court.

We would like to inform that in this 2014 we stored the double of FSC Cork than the past year.

Also inform that during this week we’ll end up the production of the Cork of year 2013.

In the video is possible to observe the residual Cork of the heap nº6, while is prepared to realize the first boiling.

To guarantee the cork stoppers supply in 2015 (almost entirely), we have at least half of the cork harvest 2013 still without producing stoppers and, additionally, 10 millions of stoppers, as safecty stock.

We can also guarantee that after 2 years of preparation, we are perfectly able to serve the markets in high quality wine, that use for the corking the diameter of 26 mm. (We already have all the qualities prepared with the corresponding quality controls for the good future of these wines).

Curiosly today, when we were going to take these photos and video, we have found that those little cork oaks (Quercus suber), which we planted in 2000, start to show their foliage and this makes us think that in about 35 years we could have our first home-grown cork stoppers.

Although, to make the wait less severe, we will have the first extraction of cork in 15 years, (event, to which we will invite all our clients).

Therefore we conclude our campaign 2014 and we wish our clients a grape harvest just as good or even better as ours.
